So, what does an Osteopath do?

Dr. Chris Cormick - Osteopath

Osteopaths specialise in diagnosing, treating and managing musculoskeletal problems and other functional disorders.

In plain english, that means we take a very good look at what is going on, why it’s there, and put together a decent plan to sort it out…

Most clients are seen for only a handful of treatments – with a certain number of people requiring more (this depends on what the presenting complaint is).

This means you’re not kept coming back every week for the rest of your life, making our treatment extremely economical.

How does an Osteopath do that?

Because we start with an accurate assessment (i.e. you’re not in our clinic for only 5 minutes) we get to create a very good treatment plan for you. An accurate assessment of your problem virtually never ends with us just looking at the location of the injury, as there’s 95% of the time a different, related problem that may be the actual “cause”.

Once we have figured out the cause, we can then set you in the right direction with regard to treatment.

The treatment that we provide are tailored to meet your requirements and are conducted with your approval and assistance. Our treatment is gentle, and aimed at restoring the bodies natural “balance” to take load off pain causing structures, thereby – making you feel better.

People often refer to us as “treating the cause” of the pain – as opposed to masking it with a medication of some kind. We don’t just treat “bones” – but all things associated with the pain – which may be coming from a joint, ligament, bone, disc, muscle or a tendon… Or in fact a combination of these!

If the cause of your pain is not suited to Osteopathic treatment – we can easily identify that, and give you alternative options to help you get to a solution faster, without relying on us.

What can you do now?

It’s really simple. Give us a quick call, and we can find you a time to get your pain sorted out.
